The Student Support Centre (Cheshire) helps light up Christmas!

December 2009

Rockin’ around the Christmas tree

STRETTON village will be lit up in time for Christmas thanks to a 12-month project to fund two festive trees.

Stretton Parish Council and a team of residents have been raising cash for a Christmas tree at Summit Close, Stretton, this year and a tree in the village for next year.

Clr Linda Jones, chairman of Stretton Parish Council, arranged for the team to collect money at Creamfields Festival and organised a hot pot supper for the cause in November.

Donations from Stronger Neighbourhoods Together in Warrington, O2, The Student Support Centre (Cheshire) Ltd, Spire Hospital Cheshire, residents and businesses were injected into the project.

The tree will be planted on Sunday and will be there all year for people to enjoy.

The Chritmas tree light switch on ceremony takes place on Sunday at 5pm.
