The Student Support Centre (Cheshire) have donated £250 to The Legacy Rainbow House
Relying solely on donations and community fundraising, donations such as these enable The Legacy Rainbow House to help disabled children live more independent lives. This is the only charity of its kind in the North of England to offer its range of services.
Staff at The Student Support Centre (Cheshire) took advantage of many people’s desire to treat themselves at Christmas by raising money for The Legacy Rainbow House with a festive cake and biscuit sale.
The office wanted to spread some cheer by donating money to a local charity in time for Christmas and The Legacy Rainbow House was a natural choice according to John Lippitt, General Manager of The Student Support Centre (Cheshire)::
“We wanted to extend some festive cheer by donating money towards a local charity which shares some of our values. Here at The Student Support Centre we are committed to helping families through educational support and building children’s confidence. For us, it was a natural link to make with The Legacy Rainbow House and we hope the money makes a difference. It’s great to be able to help families in the local community, particularly at this time of the year. We’re also planning to donate further in 2011.”
The money raised will be going towards specialised education therapy sessions for the children who attend The Legacy Rainbow House.
About The Student Support Centre:
The Student Support Centre opened its doors in 1991 and has since become the largest provider of home-based tuition programmes with 9 regional offices across the UK.
Their ‘simply’ programmes provide home-based tuition and support in maths, English and reading for children aged between 4 and 17 and may be a more cost effective alternative to private tutors. They have been designed to mirror the way in which children are taught in schools based on the National Curriculum requirements and use the teaching methods currently recommended for use in schools.
